The company's name stems from cha qi (pronounced 'chee') or "tea energy" - a profound sensation you may experience when drinking tea and can manifest itself through feelings of  tranquility and euphoria. To simply put it, qi is the vital life force or energy of the body, a concept central to Chinese philosophy​​​​.
